Mission

 To bring Joy to the lives of our singers, our patrons, and our community through choral music.

The Grosse Pointe Community Chorus provides non-audition choral music learning and performance opportunities for adult residents of the Grosse Pointes and surrounding communities.  Since 1953 we have come together to build friendships and share our love of singing with our audience.

​

We strive to be a community of adults who enjoy singing in the company of others while celebrating and modeling a culture that is kind, positive, and welcoming in our rehearsals and community-oriented performances.

 

The goal of the Grosse Pointe Community Chorus is to maintain and enhance audience and Chorus satisfaction and engagement, and to ensure the community support needed to meet our Mission.

Values

Inclusivity

Our chorus is welcoming to singers of all skill levels, demographics, and walks of life. We support each other in our shared love of singing and friendship.  

 

Engagement

Our singers attend and actively participate in Chorus by coming prepared for our rehearsals, including sectionals (e.g. soprano, alto, tenor, bass), and are willing to learn music that is occasionally challenging.

 

Collaboration

We are a volunteer-led organization, and chorus members share the management jobs required to put on our rehearsals and performances, promote the organization, and maintain the Chorus financially.
